Auto Racing Hall of Fame

Eligibility: Candidates cannot be nominated until at least twenty years after the first date of active participation in professional-level auto racing. Winners must receive 75 percent of the votes of a rougly 150-member panel of racing officials, living Hall of Fame Members, and media representatives. Voting is held usually in Feburary or March, and members are inducted about a week or two before the race. There is no set number of inductees for each year, and the number varies annually.

International Motorsports Hall of Fame (Established 1990)

Located adjacent to the Talladega Superspeedway, P.O. Box 1018, Talladega, Alabama, 35161

Eligibility: Candidates can be nominated after five years of retirement from active participation, effective April 30th of each year. Deceased candidates can be nominated five years following death, effective April 30. Nominees have fifteen years of voting eligibility, after which he/she must wait five additional years before becoming eligible to be voted in through the Old Timers Committee. Nominees must receive 51% of votes of executive committee to become member. Inductees are typically announced in conjunction with the NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Talladega Superspeedway held in late April or early May.

Motorsports Museum & Hall of Fame of America (Established 1989)

Located at Novi, Michigan.

Eligibility: Candidates can be nominated after twenty years of active participation, or following three years of retirement. Inductees are characterized by their desire to win, mastery of their field and the courage to innovate. Voting is conducted by a panel of historians, retired competitors, journalists, and living members. Among the nine various categories, inductees can be enshrined in open wheel, historic, or at large. Inductees receive the prestigious "Horsepower" award, an original bronze statuette created by sculptor Michael Curtis.
